Data Engineer Senior will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data solutions that allow the Baggage team to obtain reliable and actionable operational insights. Its mission will be to enable access to high-quality data, optimize data ingestion and transformation processes, and ensure the availability of structured information for analytical processes and advanced business models. It will act as a data explorer, identifying new sources, evaluating their quality, and proposing improvements that drive operational efficiency and strategic decisions.

Business Context: The Baggage area works with a high volume of operational information from different airport systems, sensors, tracking, ground processes, and corporate systems. The team faces challenges such as data fragmentation, the need for more robust and automated processes, and the growing demand for advanced analytics to improve times, reduce incidents, and improve the passenger experience. The Data Engineer Senior will be a key pillar to strengthen the data architecture, reduce friction between sources and infrastructure, and accelerate the delivery of insights to the business. It will collaborate closely with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and business roles.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain robust, efficient, and scalable data pipelines.
• Evaluate, explore, and document new data sources relevant to Below the Wing processes.
• Develop and optimize data integration and storage models (batch and/or streaming).
• Implement good practices of data governance, quality, cataloging, and traceability.
• Collaborate with analytical teams to understand needs, translate them into technical solutions, and ensure the availability of reliable datasets.
• Monitor and continuously improve the performance of pipelines and platforms.
• Ensure data integrity and security in accordance with corporate standards.
• Create tools, automations, and internal frameworks that facilitate the access and consumption of data by business stakeholders.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:

• +5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar roles.
• Dominance of Python and at least one ETL/ELT framework.
• Advanced SQL and data modeling experience.
• Solid knowledge of cloud platforms (ideally AWS or GCP) and data-oriented services.
• Experience building pipelines in tools like Airflow, Spark, Databricks, or similar.
• Experience in designing data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics-oriented architectures.
• Handling of version control (Git) and CI/CD practices.

• Intermediate English.
