Underwriting Account Service Manager
Zurich North America is hiring an Underwriting Account Service Manager for our Specialties Construction team! We are open to hiring in any location commutable to a Zurich office, with hiring preference for Atlanta or Dallas. While we are open to locations nationwide, you will have the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis. You will partner with your manager to set a flexible work schedule that supports you, our customers, and our brokers and agents. This role will require you to be visible in the marketplace to meet with our agents and brokers and be in the office three days per week. As a member of Zurich's leadership team, you will have the opportunity to lead, motivate and develop the Property Underwriting Account Servicing team to develop and deliver customer-specific, value-added services for existing and new large accounts. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Accountable for ensuring teams meet key operational performance goals.
- Assess and evaluate underwriting processes in order to implement agreed technical standards, controls, practices and procedures, maintaining underwriting disciplines and identifying opportunities for improvements.
- Follows up regularly with producers as needed to discuss status of new business, upcoming renewals, and renewals in process, and to develop appropriate action.
- Performs customer service and account management responsibilities, as needed, which may include resolving issues related to billing, making changes to policies and answering policy coverage related questions.
- Participates in key account business relationships in person or teleconference with Underwriters.
- Conducts regular performance evaluations, ensures staff are meeting performance standards based on key operations performance metrics, staffing models and growth goals of the business units supported. Regularly conduct career development conversations with staff and creates robust development plans.
- Makes staffing decisions concerning hiring and guides staff development through identifying skills and training needs, delegating tasks appropriately, and motivating staff to provide outstanding client service.
- Build insurance operations and underwriting skills and knowledge by participating in cross-training and learning additional processes and procedures to support multiple workflows and contribute to the effectiveness of team operations.
- Builds strong relationships across the business. Takes leadership role in Underwriting team huddles and meetings.
- Acts as subject matter expert for initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and operational performance.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 4 or more years' experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area AND Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Insurance certifications
- People management experience
- Experience working in a production and metrics performance environment
- Knowledge of operational budgets
- Knowledge of international insurance programs

The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $74,300.00 - $121,700.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
