Participate in development of controls standards and specifications by feeding back lessons-learned and gaps from each project to ensure that future projects will run smoother. Continuously improve the production lines by reducing cycle time, reducing downtime, and improving quality. Troubleshoot, improve, and add features to PLCs using Ladder Logic and/or Structured. Maintain, modify, and properly version control equipment programs, configuration files, and documentation as changes are implemented. Add or remove network devices from the equipment as needed, updating network switch configurations as needed. Assist in the installation and commissioning of new production lines as they land at the factory. Implement and make modifications to MES logic for production and performance management in the PLCs and HMIs.
Requirements: Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a closely related field and 2 years [or a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent as stated above and 5 years] of experience in any occupation of controls engineer, automation engineer, or related. Experience must include working with PLC programming; creating or modifying HMI projects; troubleshooting common fieldbus networks; developing or modifying electrical schematics using EPLAN and/or AutoCAD Electrical; and working with high volume manufacturing equipment.
Salary Range: $125,000 - $140,000/yr.
