Quality Test Engineer III

We are looking for an experienced Quality Test Engineer III to join our remote team. Must be based in Illinois. This long-term contract position focuses on ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products through performance and automation testing, while supporting key quality assurance initiatives. The role requires collaboration across teams and active participation in Agile methodologies to align testing efforts with business goals.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to identify defects and manage their resolution within the defect tracking system.
• Create and implement automated testing frameworks to establish reliable regression test suites.
• Conduct reviews of automation code to ensure adherence to established quality standards and best practices.
• Analyze and document test results, identifying root causes of issues and collaborating with stakeholders to address them.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, providing accurate effort estimates and contributing to technical design discussions.
• Collaborate with test leads and other team members to perform proof-of-concept activities for strategic QA initiatives.
• Partner with developers and other stakeholders to resolve defects and remove development blockers.
• Research and propose tools or methodologies to enhance testing capabilities and improve product quality.
• Champion continuous improvement by identifying areas for optimization and implementing best practices.
• Maintain testing documentation and release notes to support internal and external audits.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, and Groovy.
• Strong understanding of web services and related technologies.
• Experience with automation testing tools and frameworks.
• Solid knowledge of Agile methodologies and their application in quality assurance.
• Proven ability to document and analyze testing processes and results.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and team members.
• Demonstrated ability to research, plan, and implement process improvements.
• Familiarity with performance testing and root cause analysis techniques.
