Network Operations Intern
Leidos, a leading defense, intelligence, and technology company, is seeking a motivated Network Operations intern to join our Digital Modernization Group on the Global Solutions Management – Operations II (GSM-O II) contract at Scott AFB, IL. As part of our team, you'll contribute to the operations, sustainment, and defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN), supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). We are seeking highly motivated and capable interns to join our GSM-O team, supporting key functions in:
- Network Engineering
- Network Impact Assessments
- Circuit Activations
- Trouble Management
- Configuration Management
- Performance Management
- Network Operations
- System Security Administration
- Network Maintenance
- Systems Administration (including Desktop Support)
What You'll Do:
- Perform functional analysis of data and network designs to ensure efficient operation.
- Convert customer requirements into precise hardware and software specifications.
- Maintain and update network design data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Create documentation and collect metrics for timely government reporting.
- Contribute to project planning and develop logical solutions to address requirements.
- Provide customer support to resolve user questions and issues throughout the Network Engineering lifecycle.
- Conduct trouble analysis of data and network designs to identify and fix problems.
- Create and maintain software and network scripts to automate tasks.
- Administer servers and applications, ensuring system stability and security.
- Resolve network impacts related to authorized service interruptions to minimize downtime.
What You'll Bring:
- Actively pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology) from an accredited college/university.
- Solid understanding of IT principles, programming fundamentals, and networking concepts.
- Proven ability to perform data analysis, extract meaningful insights, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Commitment to obtaining Security+ certification (or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT II certification) within a specified timeframe.
- Eligibility to obtain an interim Secret DoD Security clearance (sponsored by Leidos).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Geographic Requirement: This position is based on-site at Scott AFB, Illinois.
- Reliable transportation to Scott AFB is required.

Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
