Med Mal Paralegal
We are looking for a dedicated Med Mal Paralegal specializing in trial support to join our team on a contract basis in Chicago, Illinois. This role is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong litigation experience and a deep understanding of the legal processes involved in medical malpractice cases. The position requires someone who can work independently and contribute effectively to trial preparation and case management.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of litigation, including discovery, drafting pleadings, and motions.
- Summarize medical records and abstract depositions to support case development.
- Prepare exhibits and other critical materials for upcoming trials, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Handle electronic filing of court documents and ensure compliance with filing procedures.
- Draft and issue subpoenas to gather necessary evidence and information for cases.
- Collaborate with attorneys to support trial preparation and provide timely updates.
- Maintain organized case files and utilize case management software for tracking progress.
- Independently manage day-to-day tasks and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Proven experience in civil litigation and trial preparation.
- Strong knowledge of discovery processes and legal documentation.
- Proficiency in case management software and electronic filing systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with attorneys and other legal professionals.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in all aspects of the role.
- Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to varying workloads and deadlines.
