Meta is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Quality Engineer (MQE) to join our Data Center Engineering & Construction (DEC) Quality team. This role is responsible for the generation, implementation, and management of a Manufacturing focused Meta Quality Program, by establishing a quality program that is focused on people, processes, and accountability through influential vendor management and effective partnerships with site-based stakeholders. Through leadership and partnerships, the Manufacturing Quality Engineer will utilize our program core competencies to drive vendor improvement objectives and issue mitigation strategies to ensure day one readiness, predictable on-time delivery, and operational reliability of our global campuses.
Responsibilities include conducting vendor audits, evaluating on-site trend data reflective of vendor performance, and establishing strategic vendor improvement objectives to refine vendor processes, training, and phase gating that result in reduced risk of shipping issues to sites and impacting start-up and commissioning. The MQE will develop and monitor quality program metrics to evaluate vendor manufacturing and project performance, analyze metrics to understand root causes of concerning trends, and work with applicable parties to correct those items. They will contribute to building high-performing teams by mentoring and developing offsite Vendor teams, providing feedback to meet and exceed manufacturing expectations, and influencing on-site teammates and partners.
In conjunction with the Regional Quality Manager, BMS Quality Manager, DEC, ISCE, and FacOps matrixed teams, the MQE will establish effective processes and standards to enable efficient scope execution and effective cross-functional communications. They will provide leadership to offsite vendor and onsite OFE management and quality teams, interfacing at the highest level between sourcing, design, construction, facility operations leadership, and the general contractor. The MQE will provide direction and feedback to vendor staff, general contractor staff, and trade partners on the OFCI Management and Quality program, and provide onboarding and continuous training of Vendor personnel to ensure awareness of quality procedures and specific responsibilities vital to the Meta Quality program.
The MQE will coordinate quality issues and schedule dynamics between the Meta design, ISCE, construction, and facility operations teams to ensure operational readiness, audit quality activities of vendor and project team staff to assess conformance with manufacturing expectations, and recommend and verify effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions for vendor audit and execution non-conformances and quality issues. They will partner with Vendor teams and Project Teams in review of Energization, Start-up, and Commissioning schedules to help ensure issue counts are trending downward, gating issues mitigated, adequate field service representatives are mobilized, and vendor risks are proactively avoided. The MQE will help drive the closure of open issues and escalate any outstanding open items not getting closed out in a timely manner, assist in confirming that testing documentation is properly completed and retained in a timely manner that aligns with micro-schedule milestones, and remain informed of operational equipment deficiencies, evaluate systemic potential, and program manage systemic vendor RCA and mitigation strategies.
Travel domestically and internationally as needed (anticipated 40-60%).
