Manufacturing Engineer Job Opportunity

This is a 9-12 month contract (potential to go permanent in 2026) position. We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This role involves evaluating and optimizing plant-wide manufacturing processes, implementing improvement plans, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and government laws. This is a fantastic opportunity for professional growth in the field of manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate current plant-wide manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement improvement plans.
  • Optimize facility layouts considering space utilization, material flow, ergonomics, and safety.
  • Evaluate quality control processes and recommend improvements.
  • Analyze production processes and provide management with data-driven reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant government laws and regulations.
  • Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs to aid management decisions.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services, adhering to manufacturer procedures.
  • Work well under pressure to meet short timeline goals.
  • Possess leadership skills to collaborate with shop employees on new initiatives.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to various manufacturing processes, including assembly and machining.
  • Utilize information technology skills centered around manufacturing technology.
  • Communicate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Manage equipment purchase, installation, and repair projects.
  • Participate in Cross-Functional Teams (CFTs) as needed.
  • Use AutoCAD Mechanical, Inventor, and Vault for drawing generation.

Essential Skills:

  • Expertise in manufacturing engineering and process improvement.
  • Experience in facility layout and lean manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, particularly in drawing generation.
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • BS in Technology, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with machining, assembly, and other automated systems manufacturing processes.

Work Environment:

The role involves working within a manufacturing facility where you will engage with cross-functional teams. You'll work with technologies such as AutoCAD and will need to manage equipment projects. Job Type & Location:

This is a contract position based out of Glendale Heights, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
