We're looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer, Electronics, to join our team in Rockford, IL. In this role, you'll support production and help develop new products. You'll be responsible for production programs and quality control.
Our Electronics Development Center (EDC) assembles, tests, and repairs circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and line-replaceable units (LRUs) and builds test equipment for Power & Controls. We work with electronic hardware for aircraft electrical systems.
Provide production support, including testing, manufacturing, assembly, and inspection. Route electrical modifications such as cuts, jumps, dead bugs, and component replacements/additions. Interpret engineering change documents and incorporate clear, detailed work instructions. Identify opportunities and implement changes to improve manufacturing processes or reduce costs, using knowledge of fabrication, tooling, equipment, assembly methods, quality standards, product design, materials, and parts. Provide technical expertise and support related to manufacturing. Incorporate new methods, processes, or equipment to improve existing operations. Support capital projects that enhance current capabilities. Review drawings and engineering changes for manufacturability as part of the engineering definition process. Establish equipment maintenance plans, operating procedures, and control plans. Evaluate manufacturing processes by documenting and establishing process control plans. Ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations. Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Communicate effectively with both subordinates and management. Manage workflow for Electronics-certified technicians supporting qualification programs.
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) preferred. Experience in electronics and electrical engineering. Background in the aerospace industry. Familiarity with Collins Aerospace tools, design standards, and qualification processes. Proficient in SAP.
