The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes by analyzing product designs and production methods. This role focuses on improving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring smooth transitions of new products and technologies into production. The Manufacturing Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams and customers to support product development, solve production issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, document, and improve manufacturing processes, including writing detailed manufacturing instructions and routings.
- Develop and implement work instructions for manufacturing operations, ensuring consistency and quality across production lines.
- Coordinate the successful transition of new products and technologies from design to production, ensuring manufacturability and scalability.
- Support prototyping activities and collaborate in concurrent engineering design reviews to ensure production readiness.
- Design and procure tools, fixtures, and equipment necessary for efficient production.
- Evaluate production tools and equipment for performance improvements and operational enhancements.
- Monitor and coordinate production operations, ensuring adherence to established processes and quality standards.
- Evaluate and solve production issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste, improve processes, and enhance productivity.
- Prepare and manage appropriation requests, quotes, and project documentation.
- Ensure all production processes comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including process validation (PFMEA, IQ/OQ/PQ).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including drawings, routings, and specifications.
- Provide expert guidance on material selection, manufacturing processes, and magnet performance for customer-specific applications.
- Serve as a point of contact for addressing customer inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and to understand their technical needs and product requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with hands-on expertise in process development and validation.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and proficiency in CAD software.
- Strong knowledge of process and equipment validation (PFMEA, IQ/OQ/PQ).

6. Demonstrated ability to learn new processes quickly
