Plan and direct all industrial engineering activities for the shops to improve labor efficiency and productivity using lean and WCM principles. Ensure proper and effective support of new product launches by the manufacturing engineering department staff. Lead and coordinate the daily activities of various Manufacturing Areas Interfaces with Advanced Manufacturing and Maintenance Groups. Help to develop plant layouts and materials/product flow plans via internal and/or external sources. Assist in the preparation of Process Flow Diagrams, and other Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities. Lead and/or participate in all continuous improvement activities within area of responsibility and ensure participation of direct reports in these activities. Evaluate departmental training needs, schedule employees for training, and ensure their attendance of both local and outside seminars. Develop annual department goals in support of Rivian’s stated corporate goals, and review and follow-up on the status of achieving these goals. Ensure the on-time delivery of all equipment necessary to support new product launches. Maintain open lines of communications with, and serve as a liaison between corporate staff, plant personnel, customers, and suppliers regarding new product launches and production issues. Manage overall departmental budgets and operations within the department per company set goals. Supervise a team of industrial engineers.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in an Engineering field and 5 years of experience in any occupation of a leading/supervisory/managerial role in manufacturing or process engineering. Must have experience with: 8D, APQP, PPAP, and PFMEA; Manufacturing, assembly, Kaizen, and continuous improvement process; Control plan, CAD, Catia; Working on statistical process control/control charts; and Line Balancing. Salary Range: $140,000-$152,000/yr.
