Lead Supplier Quality Engineering Specialist – Support Equipment (sourcing Central Quality)

Strategic Quality Initiatives for Global Suppliers

This role drives strategic quality initiatives for global suppliers of indirect Support Equipment (special tooling). Activities will include implementing quality plans and directing improvement plans where needed. The role engages in coaching, training, and assisting in quality systems and quality applications; selecting suppliers through qualification processes; conducting supplier audits; ensuring compliance; and utilizing supplier scorecards to drive improvements.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Strengthen both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development at Support Equipment suppliers.
• Manage user ID and GE Aerospace application access for relevant suppliers.
• Drive S-523 compliance at suppliers.
• Own supplier corrective actions, improvement initiatives, and tasks.
• Manage eNMS process as MRB focal.
• Support Quality topics at the annual supplier symposium.
• Use in-depth knowledge of a discipline, prior experience, and analytical thinking to execute functional policy/strategy.
• Act as a resource for colleagues.
• Function as an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills.
• Impact projects, processes, and procedures in own field.
• Utilize technical expertise and judgment to solve problems.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years (supplier quality) experience + minimum of 3 years (supplier quality) experience.

Desired Characteristics

• Ability to travel up to 50% of time.
• Ability to manage suppliers and quality projects.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems (AS9100, ISO9001, etc.)
• Auditing skills and attributes (ethical, diplomatic, observant, persistent, thorough, inclusive, and respectful)
• Working knowledge of sourcing processes and systems.
• Proficiency using Digital tools (Microsoft Office, ETQ, Support Central, databases, etc.)
• Proven lean experience and FLIGHT DECK.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding the manufacturing processes to produce Support Equipment.
• Ability to operate with some autonomy to execute activities.
• Adept interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage technical skills to analyze and resolve problems.
• Established project management skills.
• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
