Strategic Quality Initiatives for Global Suppliers

This role drives strategic quality initiatives for global suppliers of indirect Support Equipment (special tooling). Activities will include implementing quality plans and directing improvement plans where needed. The role engages in coaching, training, and assisting in quality systems and quality applications; selecting suppliers through qualification processes; conducting supplier audits; ensuring compliance; and utilizing supplier scorecards to drive improvements.

Roles and Responsibilities

+ Strengthen both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development at Support Equipment suppliers. This includes supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and assisting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence. SQEs have various levels of differentiation which are related to level of technical understanding of engineering drawings and ability to manage vendors.

+ Manage user ID and GE Aerospace application access for relevant suppliers.

+ Drive S-523 compliance at suppliers.

+ Own supplier corrective actions, improvement initiatives and tasks.

+ Manage eNMS process as MRB focal.

+ Support Quality topics at the annual supplier symposium.

+ Use in-depth knowledge of a discipline, prior experience, acquired expertise, and analytical thinking to execute functional policy/strategy. Propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated day-to-day problems.

+ Act as a resource for colleagues. Explain information and bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Convey performance expectations and handle sensitive issues.

+ Function as an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills. Communicate with direct colleagues and the business. Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.

+ Impact projects, processes and procedures in own field. The role operates with some autonomy and is focused on execution of activities/provision of advice within an enabling discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Activities require professional judgment but may require more senior levels of guidance.

+ Utilize technical expertise and judgement to solve problems. Leverages technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. Utilize internal and external sources to arrive at decisions.

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years (supplier quality) experience + minimum of 3 years (supplier quality) experience

Desired Characteristics

+ Ability to travel up to 50% of time.

+ Ability to manage suppliers and quality projects.

+ Experience with Quality Management Systems (AS9100, ISO9001, etc.)

+ Auditing skills and attributes (ethical, diplomatic, observant, persistent, thorough, inclusive, and respectful)

+ Working knowledge of sourcing processes and systems

+ Proficiency using Digital tools (Microsoft Office, ETQ, Support Central, databases, etc.)

+ Proven lean experience and FLIGHT DECK

+ Strong oral and written communication skills

+ Understanding the manufacturing processes to produce Support Equipment.

+ Ability to operate with some autonomy to execute activities

+ Adept interpersonal and influencing skills

+ Demonstrated ability to leverage technical skills to analyze and resolve problems

+ Established project management skills

+ Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
