Lead React Engineer

We're seeking a Lead React Engineer to join a platform engineering team focused on building internal tools, accelerators, and reusable libraries. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll guide frontend architecture, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver scalable solutions. You'll work closely with backend engineers, designers, and product owners to build modern, interactive UIs using React, TypeScript, and Node.js, while also helping shape the platform's technical direction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead development of frontend applications using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Collaborate with platform teams to build reusable components and internal tools
• Integrate with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and backend services (Node.js)
• Own the full lifecycle of applications—from development to CI/CD deployment and production support
• Contribute to platform engineering efforts including Backstage, CLI tools, and shared libraries
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other developers
• Suggest improvements and new features to enhance developer experience

Must-Have Skills:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Experience with Node.js backend development
• Familiarity with OAuth, SSO, and secure authentication practices
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and cloud deployment (Azure preferred)
• Experience integrating with SQL/NoSQL databases
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with Backstage, Figma, Zustand, or Redux
• Familiarity with module federation and micro-frontend architecture
• CLI tool development or open-source contributions
• Hackathon participation or coding presentations outside of work
• Cloud experience (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP also welcome)

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
