Lead Distributed Systems Software Engineer - Remote Eligible

Lead Software Engineer

Our client is searching for a Lead Software Engineer that has extensive experience building and designing distributed systems. This work can be remote and all candidates must work through an approved vendor of TEKsystems or on a W2 basis for TEKsystems.

Duties:

• Lead architectural design for your team's services and their interactions with the broader platform
• Make critical technical decisions on implementation approaches, technology choices, and system design
• Establish team-level engineering standards while aligning with broader organizational practices

Technical Requirements:

• Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Helm
• Data Systems: SQL, NoSQL, Kafka/Kinesis, Elasticsearch
• Observability: Distributed tracing, metrics, logging (Datadog, Prometheus, Cloudwatch)
• Practices: CI/CD, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, Test-Driven Development, Integration Testing, Performance Testing
• Architecture: Microservices, event-driven architecture, API gateways, service mesh, data mesh
• Security: OAuth/OIDC, encryption at rest/transit, zero-trust principles

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
