You will serve as an Investigative Operations Assistant in the Security Department of Recruit Training Command (RTC), Great Lakes, IL. Responsibilities include conducting preliminary investigations, researching, and gathering information for alleged or suspected violations of regulations, policies, or procedures. You will review official records to obtain necessary information and evidence. You will gather facts and information by conducting interviews and reviewing written statements. You will prepare reports to include documentary evidence received through the examination of complainants and witnesses. You will answer questions concerning regulatory procedures and policies to help solve specific problems during an investigation. You will assist with event parking and directing visitor traffic during recruit graduation and other events held onboard RTC that include large volumes of visitors requiring parking. You will assist with issuing tickets and base passes to guests attending recruit graduations and events onboard RTC.
Requirements include demonstrating at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying basic investigative techniques to search, gather, and screen factual information for official reports; 2) Communicating clearly and directly in order to conduct interviews, question subjects/witnesses, explain instructions, etc.; and 3) Assisting in the inspection of buildings to assess physical security vulnerability.
