What You Will Do

Employee at this level perform routine management duties in a food service unit or department. He/she will work under administrative supervision from a designated administrator (the Chef or Administrator III).

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Any one or combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the categories below:

  • Coursework in business, dietetics, culinary arts, food science, nutrition, hospitality, hotel, catering, restaurant, or institutional management, or a closely related field
  • Food service supervisory work experience

Supervisory Ability

Ability to pass food handler’s exam/certification course

Strong customer service skills

Must possess basic math skills

Must possess a valid driver’s license

Illinois Residency Requirement

Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position. Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Driver’s License or state of Illinois ID Card. Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days is grounds for immediate separation.
