Field Service Technician (Calibration Technician)

We have an exceptional opportunity for a Field Service Technician (Calibration Technician) to join our team in the Madisonville, KY area at one of our customer sites. We are seeking innovative problem solvers who can provide creative service solutions to our customers. Calibration Technicians perform routine and complex work related to the repair and calibration of test, measurement and diagnostic equipment. Responsibilities include:

• Achieving customer satisfaction through completion of calibration services within expected timeframes, as assigned by lead techs or supervisors
• Perform manual and automated calibration, adjustments of Test & Measurement electronic equipment at our customers' sites
• Function frequently as the primary representative of Tektronix to the customer
• Accurately enter data into tracking database
• May occasionally perform final inspection of work completed by other technicians
• Create calibration data sheets accurately and efficiently, with minimal supervision, based upon instrument specifications and approved calibration procedures
• Complete all documentation supporting customer requirements, reporting, ISO and other quality systems
• Interact with customer for items requiring repair or limited calibration
• Apply acquired job skills and company policies and procedure to complete assigned tasks
• Perform low to medium complexity calibrations; PD & GP measurement areas
• Create calibration datasheets
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Perform work at the customer location
• Adhere to quality management system policies and procedures in performance of work
• RBS participation-Daily Scheduling, Visual Management Participation, Kaizen Participation, Basic problem solving
• Perform other laboratory support functions as required in an efficient and orderly manner

Qualifications - External The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

• Typically requires a minimum of 3-6 years of related experience
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work on assignments that are semi routine in nature but recognize the occasional need to perform calibration by alternate, acceptable methods
• Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office, and Internet applications with an emphasis on Excel required
• Ability to travel as needed for personal skill enhancement and training; as well as, to fully support the customer calibration requirements
• Able to meet requirements to drive a company vehicle (Valid driver's license and clean driving record)
• Capable of lifting (50 pounds) unassisted
• Preferred: College degree, or continued education. Military Metrology/Calibration (PMEL or TMDE) training. 2-year Technical certification. Experience in equipment calibration in the following disciplines: Furnace Temperature Uniformity Surveys, General Purpose, Physical Dimensional, Airflow

Bonus or Equity

This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.

Pay Range

The salary range for this position in local currency is $30-$37 hourly.
