Assistant Industrial Engineer

Develop, install and maintain cost-effective methods of manufacturing and fair and equitable manufacturing operating standards. Prepare detailed layouts of plant facilities to optimize utilization and product flow. Participates at initiation of new production lines to assist in design for cost-effective manufacturing. Measures variances to standards, identifies out of control variances, investigates reasons, and suggests solutions, installs, and follows up. Keeps tally of the methods changes reducing cost of production and strives for budgeted goal. Completes daily labor efficiency report. Keeps abreast for the trend of technology, investigates, installs most effective methods of manufacturing to keep company at competitive edge at all times. Selects appropriate techniques of work measurement for and measure work contents of support labors. Installs standards, measures performance against standards. Responsible for all equipment necessary to complete duties. Attends weekly staff meetings. Performs various other tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Four-year degree in engineering, business or related field required
• Knowledge of our industry beneficial
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to demonstrate effective people skills
• Computer skills and knowledge of basic office software necessary
• Trustworthy – will be handling confidential material
• Willingness to relocate to another Swift & Company facility required
• Self starter
• Team player

Physical Requirements:

• Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Climbing stairs
• Regular visits to production floor: hot, cold, smells, PPE required

Compensation:

Base salary: $58,015min-$70,488mid. Health, dental, vision coverage begins after 60 days of employment. Paid time off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays. 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule. Incentive pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company's annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and condition of the incentive program.
