Amex GBT is a place where colleagues find inspiration in travel as a force for good and – through their work – can make an impact on our industry. We're here to help our colleagues achieve success and offer an inclusive and collaborative culture where your voice is valued. The Senior Manager, Strategic Partnerships Marketing & Referral Programs is responsible for leading the strategy, performance, and growth of two high-priority strategic partners and a portfolio of referral programs. The role also includes managing a small team, providing direction, coaching, and oversight to ensure excellence in delivery and partnership execution. This leader ensures each partnership and program delivers meaningful commercial impact through positive relationship leadership, structured governance, aligned demand-generation activities, and effective cross-functional coordination. Acting as the primary point of alignment between internal teams and partner organizations, the Senior Manager drives clarity, accountability, and consistent execution.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the strategy and growth agenda for two strategic partners, ensuring alignment on commercial objectives and opportunities for mutual expansion.
  • Drive joint planning discussions, aligning both organizations on key priorities and long-term growth potential.
  • Assess partnership performance and market dynamics to identify new opportunities for collaboration and scalable growth.
  • Partner with Commercial, Marketing, and Operations teams to strengthen referral workflows and insight into lead performance and conversion. Monitor referral KPIs and pipeline contribution, identifying trends and opportunities to increase lead volume and impact.
  • Establish and maintain a disciplined governance model for each strategic partner, including monthly check-ins, quarterly reviews, and executive touchpoints.
  • Consolidate inputs across internal teams to prepare high-quality, executive-ready materials for governance forums.
  • Manage and develop direct reports, providing coaching, guidance, and feedback to elevate performance and build capability within the team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across partnership and referral activities.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5–8 years' experience in partner management, business development, or referral program leadership.
  • Proven experience managing people, including responsibility for direct reports, setting goals, developing talent, and building a high-performing team.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple levels and functions.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Commercial, Marketing, Operations, and Legal teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead structured governance processes and manage complex partnership workstreams.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting lead, pipeline, and performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication and executive-level presentation skills.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, drive clarity, and maintain a high standard of execution across multiple initiatives.
  • Prefer candidates with location and availability in Eastern or Central time zones.
