The main purpose of this position is oversight of the graduation and transfer credit evaluation area in the Registrar\'s Office. Maintains the integrity of the degrees awarded by the University and ensures accuracy of transfer credit articulation.
The Office of the Registrar is the hub of the University. We provide assistance with transcripts, registration and course scheduling, transfer credit and graduation evaluation, determination of Idaho residency for tuition, and catalog information.
Provides direct supervision typically to professionals or skilled technical employees at the entry or intermediate level. Functions as advisor to unit and administration and sets goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results. Analyzes and resolves problems through drawing from prior experiences. Interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of campus resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives.
Essential Functions: 60% of Time the Evaluation Services Manager must perform:
Graduation Evaluation, Degree Verification and Awarding - Verifies and posts over 4,000 degrees annually, maintaining compliance with University policies and procedures. Updates student records as needed, including graduation dates, catalog years, career numbers, term activations, registration appointments, and repeat code clean-up. Manages the general graduation team email account. Coordinates with Michael Sutter Company for diploma production and mailing, including special orders.
Transfer/Test Credit Evaluation - Determines transfer course acceptability and equivalency based on articulation agreements, repeat policies, and accreditation status. Manages the Transfer Equivalency System (TES) and updates transfer credit rules in PeopleSoft. Participates in Transfer Orientation Programs. Processes transcripts from the National Student Exchange and Joint Services (military) to award appropriate credit.
