The City of Caldwell is looking for an Assistant City Engineer. The individual assists in the management of the Engineering Department and development of construction and Local Improvement District projects for the City's Engineering Department; performs related work as required. A sign-on bonus of $5000 will be offered: $2500 on the first paycheck and $2500 after one year of employment.
The principal function of an employee in this class is to assist in the management of the Engineering Department and assist in the direction of the design and development of public works and Local Improvement District projects. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the City Engineer. An employee in this class may supervise employees in the Engineering Department, organize capital and Local Improvement District projects, works with stormwater permitting and water quality issues on behalf of the city, acts as the Certified Floodplain Manager for the city, manages and designs city hydraulic projects and oversees the financial and organizational needs of the department as assigned.
Principal duties of this class are performed in a general office environment. Responsibilities include:
