Technical Expert, responsible for the primary provision of project (and the secondary provision of support) expertise across all Energy Networks' RTS Systems Application Software, Configuration, Data, Hardware and RTU/Communications Infrastructure ensuring effective achievement of project deliverables and supporting the operational integrity, reliable performance and high availability (in service) of this business-critical 24/7 systems.
As Senior SCADA Engineer, you will plan and deliver your own work packages as directed, executing allocated work, recording, and reporting progress to the designated Project Manager - whilst functioning effectively as a member of a project team.
Providing the necessary technical expertise to ensure timely and successful resolution of RTS system faults that have been escalated from front line support.
Support the safety culture, ensuring all legislation and company rules, policies and procedures are adhered to.
Deliver project and customer service targets.
Pro-actively support the delivery of capital and revenue budgets in the RTS arena.
Coach and mentor of the RTS team in technical skills.
Advise the RTS Strategy & Projects Manager of any escalation issues.
Support the delivery of asset maintenance and replacement in line with agreed plans and budgets.
Participate as a member of the RTS External or Internal Standby Rotas (if and as required by the business).
Working knowledge of Energy Networks policies, procedures and working practices.
Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Awareness of network development policies and procedures.
Developed customer service skills.
Expert knowledge of network and business data and network management systems.
Innovative in applying the latest technologies.
Developed negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to devise solutions to complex problems/challenges.
At least 3 years' experience in a senior technical role.
Engineering qualification: HND/HNC (or equivalent significant relevant experience)
IT systems appreciation
Detailed working knowledge of SCADA
Database knowledge
At least 3 years' experience in the above technical discipline
