Location: Whitelee Windfarm Eaglesham – onsite

Salary from £48,400 + up to 10% bonus and single health care

Directly responsible for developing, establishing, and supporting the Control Room systems and associated processes including OEM SCADA, PI, Domina VACS, SharePoint, Meteoweb and Audio/Videos systems

Drive the Control Room's continued recognition as best-in-class by championing innovation, integrating future-proof technologies, and designing resilient systems that anticipate tomorrow's operational needs

Directly responsible for supporting the Control Room Team through resolution of day-to-day system issues including responsibility for new site integration into the Control Room and system preparation including Sentinel packages and EDIL.

Management of Wind Turbine, PV, BESS, and Substation HV alarm escalation protocols, Co-ordinate with OEM's, ENOPS, Systems Team, Technical Services team and Control Room to improve availability of assets. This includes the update of the fault escalation Database (SQL) and automated alarm management system (ARSOS) alarm protocols

What you'll be doing:

  • Systems Expert accountable for the development, upkeep, and continuous improvement of Control Room systems managing SPR's portfolio of over 1,500 wind turbines generating 4.5GW+ of renewable energy. Ensure systems remain current, operate efficiently, and that any issues are swiftly resolved and driven to full closure.
  • Management of the relationships with other key Information Technology / Operational Technology, IT/OT stakeholders (Iberdrola, Digital Transformation, Site third party Communications suppliers etc)
  • Responsible for ensuring uninterrupted availability of Control Centre systems supporting renewable technologies, mitigating regulatory risk, and optimising revenue through high system reliability and performance
  • Directly responsible for the system integration testing of all new and existing technology in the SPR portfolio including Wind, Solar or Battery into the Control Centre (including SCADA, PI, VACS, etc.)
  • Lead escalation of system issues to responsible parties, establish key contacts with Digital Transformation, Aveva PI, Global Technical Services, Centre of Excellence (COE) and other groups as required to ensure quick and efficient resolution of issues.
  • Provide system support and development for CORE (SPR SCADA), collaborating with system architects to resolve issues and drive continuous enhancement of the application, collating and managing control room team enhancement suggestions
  • Responsibility to collate all relevant site technical information to the Control Centre, Alarm Escalation and Reset Protocols etc.
  • Management responsibility for approval and reviewing of user system accounts for Domina VACS and OEM SCADA
  • Lead the design modification process for the Control Centre, coordinating with OEMs, Global Technical Services, Systems Team, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure documentation is complete, reviewed, and approved. Oversee scheduling and delivery of works with Field Operation teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Management of Wind Turbine and Substation HV Escalation Protocols, Co-ordinate with OEM's, ENOPS, Systems Team, Technical Services teams, and Control Centre to improve availability of assets. This includes the update of the fault escalation Database (SQL) and automated alarm management system (ARSOS).
  • Ensure delivery of work to time, budget & quality of functional & non-functional requirements.
  • Resolve system issues and defects identified during testing, delivering timely updates and additional releases to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
  • Recognise and support the recommended applications development methodologies and standards as determined by COE.

What you'll bring:

  • Educated to degree level or have the relevant knowledge and experience levels.
  • Strong understanding / experience of IT/OT concepts, including networking/systems/application design and development/system testing and processes.
  • Strong understanding of systems and applications including SCADA, Sharepoint, Power Automate, Python and AVEVA PI.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Visio, Powerpoint, Office 365, Visual Basic programming.
  • Experience in Project Management, as well as knowledge of working with third parties/multi-discipline teams.
  • Strong analytical, influencing, and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to operate and engage at all levels in the organisation.
  • Expert problem-solving skills.
  • Policy / Procedural development experience.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Efficiency orientated.
  • Customer focussed.

Minimum Criteria:

  • Degree qualification in engineering discipline or have the relevant knowledge and experience levels.
  • Good knowledge of key business process, service performance, and risk management.
  • Highly computer literate with good working knowledge of OT systems including SCADA, Microsoft Office applications, PI, and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of OT/IT and communications systems architecture and design
  • Full Driving Licence to occasionally attend others sites

Desirable:

  • Renewables industry experience and in particular Wind, PV, and Battery
