Mechanical Engineer, Senior

HX5 is currently seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer Senior in support of the EBH Division at Hill Air Force Base.

EBH programs include conventional munitions systems to be supported include (but are not limited to) air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles, guided and unguided bombs, cluster bomb units, warheads, fuses, seekers/sensors, ammunition, artillery and CAD/PAD, offensive and defensive aircraft countermeasures, rockets and explosive release devices (i.e. cartridges, squibs) and all other conventional munitions utilized in the USAF represented in class of supply Five (V).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide personnel experienced in warhead (penetrator, general purpose, kinetic etc.) design, development, qualification and testing, mechanical design, manufacturing, energetic fills, penetration modeling (e.g. Penetration Curve or PENCURV), test & evaluation, technical data package configuration management, warhead performance (fragmentation and penetration), aircraft integration, fatigue & stress analysis, insensitive munitions, and composites
  • Knowledge and experience shall include in-depth knowledge of MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-2105C

Education and Experience: Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering or Technology, from an ABET accredited institution and twelve (12) years of relevant experience
  • MA/MS degree in Engineering or Technology, from an ABET accredited institution and ten (10) years of relevant experience

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.

Other Position Requirements:

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance by date of hire.
  • Must be able to travel, including air travel.
