Electrical Engineer
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Pay Rate: $55 - $60/hour
Schedule: 4/10s, Monday–Thursday (flexible start time)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Cincinnati, OH. This role will focus on the analog and digital design of ruggedized electronics for ordnance applications. The ideal candidate has a strong background in circuit design, analysis, troubleshooting, and product development, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Essential Functions
- Perform analog and digital design of ruggedized electronics for ordnance applications.
- Conduct circuit tolerance analyses using hand calculations and Spice tools.
- Support requirements development, refinement, and compliance.
- Develop test plans and generate test reports (Brassboard, Design Verification, Qualification, Firing Properties, etc.).
- Execute test activities across all phases of the product development cycle.
- Assist in structured failure investigations using 8D, Fishbone, and Cause & Effect methods.
- Prepare and present material for design reviews.
- Generate Engineering Orders (EOs) and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
- Support multiple concurrent projects and meet program milestones.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of experience; OR Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience; OR 8+ years of prior related Electrical Engineering experience in lieu of degree.
- 4+ years of analog design experience with differential amplifiers, op amps, LDOs, filters, and data converters.
- 3+ years of digital design experience with logic gates, flip flops, timers, and filters.
- 2+ years of power supply and conditioning design (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC, Linear, Switching Supplies).
- 2+ years of experience with serial communication buses (UART, SPI, I2C).
- Hands-on experience with sensors (temperature, MEMs accelerometers, differential pressure sensors, gyros).
- Knowledge of EMI suppression, ESD protection, and short circuit protection best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting experience using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, meters, etc.).
- Experience with LTSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, and schematic capture/board layout tools (Altium, PADS, etc.).
- Experience leading large-scale technical projects and preparing technical documentation (test plans, reports, drawings).
- Root cause analysis expertise.
Preferred:
- BSEE/CompE with 7+ years of experience.
- Experience designing ESADs and ISDs per MIL-STD-1316 and MIL-STD-1901A.
- Experience presenting to Safety Review Boards (AFSRB, FISTRP, NNMSB).
- Energetic materials interfacing/testing experience (EFDIs, LEEFIs, Lead Charges, Boosters).
- Design for extreme environments (vibration, shock, temperature, humidity).
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
