Role Description

  • To achieve sales and profitability budgets for the assigned territory, in accordance with the company's business development plan.
  • Manage and develop the existing contractor direct end-user customer account base to produce additional growth in line with Husqvarna Constructions sales strategy.
  • Concentrate and identify new sales opportunities and achieve profitable sales through these new accounts.
  • Work closely with the internal customer services team on maximizing existing territory business and in pro-actively developing new business. This will be supported by a Territory Business plan.
  • Participate constructively and effectively as a member of the sales team. Always identifying and communicating business development territory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate manages their territory in the Southeast by visiting, coordinating and developing sales/business to their customer base, through working closely with the customer decision maker and/or the influencer of the decision making process.
  • The ASM will regularly communicate market information, aimed at territory business development, which will also encompass intelligence from the field i.e. product performance, market prices, competitor activity, wins and losses etc. The individual will participate in regular sales meetings, during which they will be expected to communicate territory objectives that meet Husqvarna Construction sales growth strategy.

End Results

  • Define and implement a cost-effective strategy for generating sales within the defined territory customer base.
  • Key area – New Business Growth & Dimond tool sales
  • Achieve the territory sales in line with agreed budgets.
  • Fully understand and implement the Husqvarna Construction Sales Strategy, including brand and market pricing.
  • Develop strong relationships with the customer base, while encouraging pro-active trading which addresses their needs/requirements by effectively collaborating with the customers sales people, operatives and influencers.
  • Collaborate across the CD team showing where requested to support both sales channels.

Major Activities

  • The ASM will spend at least 80% of their time in the field visiting new and existing customers. With a major emphasis on developing customer accounts where excellent potential exists, whilst generating new business.
  • Work closely with the internal customer services team on maximizing existing territory business and in pro-actively developing new business. This will be supported by a Territory Business plan.
  • Develop effective territory management through sensible journey, time and geographical customer visit patterns and objectives.
  • Follow up all sales leads passed from the office/colleagues promptly and efficiently logging all activity in CRM.
  • Establish customer records/data base and ensure they are kept up to date and in good condition in CRM.
  • Continually review competitor activities; identify potential threats, opportunities and action plan.
  • Prepare a target plan to identify and exploit short, medium and long term potentials to meet objectives.
  • Ensure that all reports/correspondence are completed and returned on time to the highest level.
  • Advise the line manager of any changes, issues and competitor activity affecting the sales, margins and overall business relationship with customers.
  • Report any perceived weaknesses in personal, product or operational knowledge to the line manager so appropriate training can be arranged.
