Huron helps its clients drive growth, enhance performance and sustain leadership in the markets they serve. We help healthcare organizations build innovation capabilities and accelerate key growth initiatives, enabling organizations to own the future, instead of being disrupted by it. Together, we empower clients to create sustainable growth, optimize internal processes and deliver better consumer outcomes. Health systems, hospitals and medical clinics are under immense pressure to improve clinical outcomes and reduce the cost of providing patient care. Investing in new partnerships, clinical services and technology is not enough to create meaningful and substantive change. To succeed long-term, healthcare organizations must empower leaders, clinicians, employees, affiliates and communities to build cultures that foster innovation to achieve the best outcomes for patients. Joining the Huron team means you'll help our clients evolve and adapt to the rapidly changing healthcare environment and optimize existing business operations, improve clinical outcomes, create a more consumer-centric healthcare experience, and drive physician, patient and employee engagement across the enterprise. Join our team as the expert you are now and create your future.

As the Solution Advisor for Behavioral Health, you will be the lead clinical informatics expert responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing EHR workflows for one of the most complex and sensitive areas of healthcare. With a specialized focus on Opioid Management and Homeless Services, you will provide deep subject matter expertise on the Oracle Health (Cerner) platform, ensuring it supports compassionate, compliant, and effective care for vulnerable patient populations. Your primary objective is to translate the unique needs of Behavioral Health clinicians into functional system design that enhances patient safety and supports recovery. In this role, you will leverage your strong clinical background in Behavioral Health combined with deep expertise in clinical informatics. You will be the go-to expert for designing workflows for Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs), group therapy documentation, and crisis interventions, all while ensuring strict adherence to privacy regulations like 42 CFR Part 2. You will guide the integration of critical tools like Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) lookups, manage workflows for Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), and help design solutions for tracking patients experiencing homelessness. You will work in close partnership with psychiatrists, social workers, addiction specialists, case managers, and patient safety officers to ensure the EHR is a tool that helps, not hinders, their vital work.

As the Solution Advisor for Behavioral Health, you will:

  • Serve as the primary consultant to Behavioral Health councils and stakeholders on the Oracle Health Behavioral Health solution and its impact on treatment planning, patient privacy, and clinical documentation
  • Provide expert support and knowledge transfer on Cerner capabilities, translating technical nomenclature to enable clear understanding by clinical teams
  • Work directly with clinical counterparts to facilitate design workshops, review deliverables, and drive consensus on complex workflows
  • Lead the analysis of current-state workflows and the design of future-state processes for intake assessments, treatment planning, group notes, and discharge summaries
  • Define system requirements for Opioid Management, including workflows for integrating PDMP checks, tracking urine drug screen (UDS) results, and supporting MAT protocols
  • Design workflows that enforce the stringent data segmentation and consent requirements of 42 CFR Part 2. Identify potential risks and clinical "pain points" in proposed workflows, advocating for solutions that prioritize clinician efficiency and patient safety
  • Act as a lead driver in an Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tool, developing and documenting test scripts for complex BH scenarios like crisis management and interdisciplinary handoffs
  • Assist in mapping Behavioral Health staff roles (e.g., LCSW, Psychologist, Peer Support Specialist) to system security profiles that govern access to sensitive data.
  • Assist in the review of training manuals and job aids to ensure they are clinically accurate and relevant for a Behavioral Health audience

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) or equivalent experience are valued
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of combined experience in a clinical Behavioral Health role and a clinical informatics role
  • Direct, hands-on experience with the Oracle Health (Cerner) Millennium platform. Specific expertise in the Cerner Behavioral Health solution and PowerChart is required
  • Demonstrated expertise in Behavioral Health clinical workflows, treatment planning methodologies, and the unique privacy requirements of 42 CFR Part 2
  • Knowledge of common screening tools (e.g., PHQ-9, AUDIT-C, C-SSRS) is essential
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments will be critical as you work to align technical and business objectives
  • Previous Federal consulting or experience working within the DoD, Veteran's Health Administration (VHA) or Military Hospital System (MHS)
  • The ability to travel is an essential function of this role and may vary based on client, enterprise, or project needs, with up to 20% travel to client sites nationwide
  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Candidates must comply with applicable client requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates

The estimated salary range for this job will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron's benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The rate range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
