Software Engineer

You'll build and enhance robust web applications using PHP and SuiteCRM, contributing across the full software development lifecycle. You'll collaborate in an Agile team, bringing a proactive, problem-solving mindset to deliver well-designed solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build new features across the Beakon EHS platform using PHP, SuiteCRM, and open-source technologies
• Work closely with Development Managers, Team Leaders, and other engineers to deliver well-designed solutions
• Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and Infrastructure teams to deliver high-quality features
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, aligned with the product roadmap
• Work within an Agile team (e.g. Scrum), supporting sprint planning and delivery
• Help diagnose and fix software defects to improve reliability
• Write unit tests and documentation to support your work
• Share ideas and contribute to team practices and technical decisions

Skills and Experience

• Around 2+ years' experience in a software development role
• Experience building enterprise web applications using PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, and JavaScript
• Familiar with PHP best practices and object-oriented programming
• Front-end development experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery/AJAX
• Exposure to SuiteCRM or SugarCRM is a plus
• Comfortable delivering features within a production environment
• Experience using Git or similar version control tools
• Basic understanding of UX and design principles
• Clear written and verbal communication skills in English
• Some experience writing front-end and back-end unit tests
• Familiarity with Agile ways of working (e.g. Scrum)
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or MariaDB
