Job Opportunity: Vascular Surgery Specialist

The Department of Surgery at HFR Fribourg – Cantonal Hospital is looking for a vascular surgery specialist (100%)

HFR Fribourg – Cantonal Hospital is the reference hospital of the canton. It has 300 beds distributed across eight clinics. The surgery clinic is classified in category A for FMH recognition of postgraduate training in surgery and in category B for vascular surgery. It currently has 55 beds for more than 2,700 annual hospitalizations and more than 3,500 interventions. The surgical spectrum of vascular surgery includes surgery of the lower and upper limbs, carotid, aortic abdominal surgery, amputations and wound treatment, venous surgery, hemodialysis accesses, and endovascular treatments. These care services are provided in a multidisciplinary manner in very close collaboration with the radiology and angiology departments. As a regional referral center for vascular surgery, a high level of emergency activity is provided and the technical platform allows for the management of complex cases.

Your profile:

• Specialist title in vascular surgery (or equivalent)
• Doctorate in medicine
• Several years of clinical experience as a senior physician or head of clinic in a university clinic or cantonal hospital
• Competencies in endovascular surgery are required
• Abilities to interdisciplinary collaboration with medical, nursing, and administrative departments
• Openness, communication skills, and willingness to integrate into an existing team
• Special interest in pre and post-graduate training
• Fluency in French or German with good knowledge of the other language

Start date: October 1, 2025 or upon agreement
