Neurology Clinic Head Or Assistant Head In Neurology

The neurology department of the Hôpital fribourgeois (HFR) consists of eight specialists in neurology FMH, supported by one assistant in training and one assistant in rotation from the internal medicine clinic. The department covers the main areas of neurology, particularly with an accredited stroke unit, a consulting activity in various departments of the HFR as well as in outpatient care (general neurology, neurovascular consultations, neuroimmunology, neuromuscular, epilepsy, abnormal movements and a Memory Clinic in collaboration with the neuropsychology unit attached to the neurology service). There is also a complete neurophysiological platform (EEG, ENMG, cerebrovascular and neuromuscular ultrasound) and a day hospital for outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic care. The team is based at the cantonal hospital in Fribourg, but is available for the entire HFR network with about 6000 outpatient consultations and more than 2500 additional examinations per year. There is close collaboration with various internal medicine specialties including an emergency department and intensive care unit. We also collaborate with neurosurgery and neurorehabilitation of the HFR, with the university neurology clinics of Bern and Lausanne, and with the University of Fribourg.

In order to ensure the quality of outpatient and inpatient care and to participate in pre- and post-graduate training in neurology (clinical C), the medical management of the Hôpital fribourgeois is looking for a:

Your mission:

• Participate in the quality care of patients in the stroke unit and hospital units
• Participate in outpatient consultations
• Support the neurophysiological activity (especially ENMG and/or Doppler) of the hospital and outpatient consultation as much as possible
• Participate in the on-call service
• Supervise the assistant doctors and participate in their training
• Participate in multicenter or locally developed clinical studies
• Participate in the teaching of students from the University of Fribourg

Your profile:

• FMH specialist in neurology (or equivalent) or in the final year of training as a neurologist
• At least 3 years of experience in neurology in a clinic A
• Ideally SGKN certificate or equivalent for ENMG, EEG and/or Doppler
• Fluency in written and spoken French and German (spoken)
• Dynamic, open and collegial personality
• Interest in general neurology, teaching and clinical research
