Sales Operation Desk Manager
This role is responsible for executing complex operations related to purchasing and inventory management, and handling non-factory focused assignments such as communication with various business units, suppliers, and vendors. The role contributes to warehouse material flow improvements, supervises production scheduling, and supports quality engineering teams. The role manages supply buffers and collaborates with internal teams and suppliers to implement strategic solutions for materials management.
Responsibilities include:
- Completes non-factory focused discretional assignments, such as liaising with different business units, suppliers, and vendors who provide components and materials.
- Drives improvements within warehouse material flow by planning layout and space requirements, analyzing and reviewing product flow, and evaluating and proposing new equipment options.
- Supervises production scheduling activities by monitoring materials inventories, tracking progress of production, and reviewing factors that affect schedules.
- Supports quality engineering teams as they assess the output of production and the suitability of incoming materials.
- Manages supply buffers and allocation to shorten lead times and build resiliency into the supply chain without driving excess.
- Provides vendor management support, contributes broad, business management perspective, provides input and support into planning, order management and procurement.
- Works collaboratively with internal teams and suppliers to support the implementation of strategic solutions to improve materials management processes.
- Resolves issues having to do with reconciliation of inventory discrepancies and/or addressing questions elevated from others in lower-level roles.
- Maintains a safe work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures.
Recommended Education & Experience:
- Four-year or Graduate Degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
- Typically has 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in procurement, supply chain, or a related field or an advanced degree with little or no work experience.
