R&D Electrical Engineer
What an R&D Electrical Engineer does at HP:
- Designs portions of engineering solutions for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry, and algorithms based on established engineering principles and specifications.
- Performs test and troubleshooting to debug defective hardware/ electronic units, sub-assemblies, and process steps based on established testing plans.
- Performs validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, thermal generation, and system power measurements.
- Implements remediations across hardware stack according to plan, while keeping a thorough procedural record and data log.
- Develops and publishes updates on resolutions and communicates findings internally, summarizing all results.
- Exercises technical judgement, creativity, and initiative with attention to detail consistently throughout work output.
- Participates as a member of project team of other electrical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners for product development and knowledge sharing.
- Contributes as part of the project team to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for low to moderately - complex products.
- Develops understanding and relationship with internal and outsourced development partners on electrical hardware design and development, sharing information via standardized reports.
Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
- Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
- Typically has 0-1 years of work experience, preferably in electrical design and tools, software packages, architecture of electronic hardware, or a related field.
