Develop, program, and support control systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of manufacturing processes. Provide technical expertise in PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, and system integration to support automation initiatives and process improvements.
Design and program PLC logic, HMI screens, and industrial communication networks. Develop I/O lists, control narratives, and functional specifications for automation projects. Ensure all control systems incorporate proper safety features and comply with relevant standards (NFPA 79, IEC 61131, ISO, UL 508A).
Support the integration of new equipment, instrumentation, and VFDs into plant systems. Lead commissioning activities, including testing, debugging, and operator training. Collaborate with vendors and contractors on installation and startup of control systems.
Provide advanced troubleshooting support for PLC, HMI, network, and instrumentation issues. Partner with maintenance and technicians to resolve control system problems quickly. Optimize system performance through software modifications and system tuning.
Maintain accurate documentation for control system programs, network layouts, and electrical schematics. Contribute to standardization of programming practices, templates, and revision control processes. Support change management and ensure version tracking for all automation software.
Demonstrated hands-on skill in fault finding, mechanical system troubleshooting, and solid problem resolution skills. Highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills; a team player, yet able to work independently when necessary. Exceptional problem solving and communication skills, creative, and has strong organizational skills as well as documentation.
Strong, working knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety), NFPA 79 & UL508A codes. PLC & HMI programming experience or familiarization using Ladder Logic and Structured Text, Functional Block Languages. Experience with electrical control panel design, building, and wiring. Electrical schematic drawing/updates. Excellent skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Detail oriented, organized, and able to demonstrate a high sense of urgency. Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and drawings. Analytical skills - Skilled at gathering and analyzing information to understand complex situations and solve problems.
Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. Preferred Bachelors.
