Radiation Oncology Business Services provides critical support to ensure patients receive timely and coordinated care. The Clinical Supervisor oversees patient medical clearance operations for Radiation Oncology. This role manages daily functions, supervises staff, and ensures timely and accurate clearance for patients. The supervisor also advocates for physician-defined care plans and monitors appeal timelines to support optimal patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in nursing or has graduated from an accredited school of dosimetry. They bring at least four years of clinical nursing experience, including two years in radiation oncology and one year in a supervisory or team lead role, or two years of experience with a dosimetry degree. A current Texas RN license or Certified Medical Dosimetrist credential is required, along with BLS or CPR certification. ACLS or PALS certification is preferred. Strong leadership skills and the ability to develop clinical arguments for care plans are essential.

The typical work schedule is Monday-Friday during standard business hours, with flexibility based on departmental needs.

Hourly breakdown of salary range: Minimum $48.56 Midpoint $60.82 Maximum $73.08

Job Duties:

  • Supervise day-to-day functions of assigned area.
  • Facilitate patient medical clearance for Radiation Oncology patients.
  • Review clinical cases and develop individualized patient advocacy strategies.
  • Monitor appeal timelines and ensure compliance.
  • Develop strong clinical arguments for physician-defined care plans.
  • Manage staffing, performance evaluations, and professional development.
  • Ensure adherence to institutional policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree Nursing.
  • Required: Graduation from an accredited school of dosimetry.

Work Experience:

  • Required: 4 years Clinical nursing experience to include two years radiation oncology experience and one year team lead or supervisory experience.
  • Required: 2 years Required experience, with Dosimetry degree.
  • Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Required: RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure State of Texas Professional Nursing License (RN).
  • Required: CMD - Certified Medical Dosimetrist Must be obtained within four years of job entry by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB).
  • Required: BLS - Basic Life Support or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Preferred: ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification as required by patient care area.
  • Preferred: PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification as required by patient care area.

Other Requirements:

Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
