Jacobs is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Transportation team in Houston, Texas, in Summer 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in large-scale transportation projects and apply your academic knowledge to real-world transportation challenges. You will assist our team in solving a range of problems and learn about industry-standard procedures and software. You'll work alongside experienced Engineers and Project Managers, gaining valuable insights into the field of transportation engineering.
Your responsibilities may include: working in a team environment with other project engineers on the detailed hydrologic, hydraulic, and drainage analysis and design of urban and rural transportation related projects; providing support in the preparation of contract drainage drawings, specifications, and estimates; assisting in basic highway/roadway design calculations; performing routine aspects of engineering requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles under close supervision; and performing other duties assigned by the Group Leader and other team members.
Qualifications: in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in an accredited program with an emphasis in transportation; interest in hydrology, hydraulics, drainage design, roadway design, and transportation engineering; and working knowledge of Microsoft Office program. Ideally, you'll also have a 3.0 GPA, working knowledge of AutoCAD or Microstation, a previous internship related to your field of study, ability to communicate with all levels of management within Jacobs, self-driven time management and organizational skills, and authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
