Horse Powertrain has 19,000 dedicated and determined employees, working in 17 manufacturing plants, and 5 R&D centers on three continents. This role is employed by Horse Powertrain and is based in Detroit, MI, with occasional travel possible to Horse Powertrain's other sites.

Lead and grow Horse Powertrain's commercial footprint in the United States, driving strategic customer partnerships, revenue growth, and global commercial alignment within the evolving automotive and powertrain industry.
- Define and execute the U.S. commercial strategy aligned with global business objectives and growth targets
- Lead business development, market penetration, and revenue pipeline creation across U.S. OEMs and Tier 1 customers
- Act as global commercial lead for a key strategic customer, ensuring consistent account strategy, governance, and relationship management
- Drive high-level commercial negotiations, securing profitable long-term partnerships and program acquisitions
- Build strong executive-level customer relationships while positioning Horse Powertrain as a strategic partner
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product management, finance, and operations to deliver competitive customer solutions
- Provide market intelligence, forecasting insights, and strategic input to support portfolio, budget, and capacity planning decisions
- Build and lead the regional sales organization as the business grows, including hiring, developing, and guiding account teams
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (MBA or equivalent advanced qualification preferred)
- 10+ years of senior sales or commercial leadership experience in automotive, powertrain, or Tier 1 supplier environments
- Proven success managing major OEM or Tier 1 key accounts in the U.S. automotive market
- Strong track record in strategic negotiations, account growth, and complex commercial contract management
- Experience operating in global matrix organizations with cross-regional stakeholder coordination
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills at executive level
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate market insights into commercial strategy
- Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-growing environments requiring both strategic vision and hands-on execution
