Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the engineering, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Terminal Automation Systems (TAS) and Tank Farm Management Systems (TFMS). This includes control room hardware, PLCs, third-party instruments, field instruments, loading gantry equipment, headerline instruments such as Pressure Transmitters (PT) and Temperature Transmitters (TT), as well as TAS and TFMS software. The position requires a deep understanding of Terminal process automation and tank farm management principles, and hands-on experience with related systems and instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the installation of all TAS and TFMS related equipment.
  • Perform backend engineering tasks including system architecture design, I/O mapping, and configuration of PLCs and SCADA systems for TAS and TFMS.
  • Develop and validate control logic, communication protocols, and data flow between field instruments, third-party devices, and central control systems.
  • Prepare detailed engineering documentation such as wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and interface specifications.
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for backend components and system configurations.
  • Conduct functional checks to ensure proper operation of all instruments.
  • Perform commissioning activities, including calibration and validation of measurement systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to TAS and TFMS instrumentation.
  • Work closely with internal teams, contractors, and project managers to ensure project timelines and specifications are met.
  • Expertise in safety protocols associated with the handling of hazardous materials stored in tanks and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs such as ML-200R ControlEdge, Safety Manager, and SMSC is essential for configuring and maintaining automation systems.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Instrumentation, Electrical, or Electronics preferred).

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in TAS, TFMS, or related fields.

• Relevant certifications in instrumentation is an advantage.

Soft Skills

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.

Preferred

• Strong expertise in PLC and SCADA systems, along with field instrumentation.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to automation systems.

• Experience with Honeywell systems such as Experion and other relevant automation solutions.

• Willingness to travel up to 90% of the time as part of project assignments and site activities.
