As a Field Service Engineer, your role is to provide exceptional technical support and to service customer sites with a focus on the following trade disciplines (but not limited to) automation and controls, HVAC, BMS, access control to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize customer site downtime.

The candidate will be based in Dunedin and will be expected to travel to sites outside of Dunedin at times (Queenstown, Christchurch, and Invercargill).

Key responsibilities:

  • Service, maintenance, and commissioning of Honeywell and third-party equipment (as per trade expertise)
  • Day to day servicing, calibrations, and maintenance; including diagnoses, repairs faults, programming, and commissioning in various controls systems across HVAC, BMS
  • Delivery of service projects; including design, documentation, procurement, programming, and commissioning.
  • Navigate and interrogate control system interfaces
  • Estimates materials costs and quantities
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction through direct liaison with client representatives, customers, and service recipients

Key experience & capabilities:

  • A trade certificate in a related field is essential.
  • Electrical certification is required
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in BMS, HVAC are required
  • Experience in building automation DDC controls as well as instrumentation and industrial controls will be considered
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and ability to travel when required to the sites mentioned above
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work independently without supervision
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • A strong commitment to safety and a safe working environment
