Software Development Manager

In this role, you will lead and manage complex engineering projects with a focus on the software development of safety-critical aircraft control units for electro-mechanical actuators, fuel cells, life support systems, and environmental control systems. You will be responsible for coordinating the software team, ensuring that project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met, while delivering high-quality results that enhance our aerospace solutions.

This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex engineering projects from initiation to completion.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress, identify any issues, and address them promptly.
  • Assess, communicate, and mitigate technical risks.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with a global team to ensure project alignment and success.

Qualifications

  • University education in an Engineering field, preferably with an IT/programming background.
  • 3+ years' experience in project engineering, experience with various project management tools and methodologies, risk management and problem-solving.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget, preferably from R&D environment.
  • Excellent command of the English language (B2/C1 level) for regular spoken and written communication.
  • Self-motivated to learn and grow, with the ability to work with minimal supervision while consistently taking the initiative to complete tasks without being prompted.
  • Any of the following will be considered as advantageous: technical expertise in aerospace engineering principles and practices, experience in the development of real-time embedded software, knowledge of software regulatory standards, including DO-178B and experience in designing.
