Backend (Node.js) Engineer

We at Holycode are currently looking for a Backend (Node.js) Engineer with strong skills and proven experience who is ready to dive into the A team, for a full-time engagement, to join our team of passionate IT professionals, here in our Belgrade office.

The position is for a global watches and jewellery retailer from Switzerland. The team develops a mobile application with supporting backend for owners of high-end timepieces and jewellery. The team is committed to change the customer experience in the luxury goods industry by creating trust and transparency by combining new technologies.

We are a young and dynamic team, looking for enthusiastic people who want to grow with us.

Challenging Things You'll Work On:

• Building and delivering top-notch user experiences for the luxury goods market
• Working on the backend of our applications for owners of luxury goods including secure storage of documents and features such as insurance, watch owner community or luxury goods trading
• Developing and implementing back-end architecture to support user interface concepts
• Managing the build and deploy pipeline from Azure DevOps to Azure and Expo.dev
• Managing and improving different integrations to systems like Sales Force, Microsoft etc.
• Monitoring and improving back-end performance
• Documenting application changes and developing updates
• Troubleshooting interface software and debugging application codes

About the tech stack:

Our stack includes some of the most fun-to-work-with technologies: The backend relies on the cascading architecture of Nest.JS over express.js using the rich Mongoose project as a wrapper around our mongoDB instance and TypeORM to include a PostgreSQL database. The backend exposes a simple REST API that is easy to get into. Our existing mobile frontend builds on the scalable ReactNative framework with rich animations for beautiful intuitive UIs. To query the API we use the fast axios library together with the Websocket technology for instant events. The mobile application is easy to develop and bring onto real devices thanks to the Expo.io framework and the Expo Go app. All our builds rely on typescript to ease development using statically typed variables.

Your contribution to the team includes:

• 5 years of experience with JavaScript (Typescript), Node.js (Express)
• In-depth understanding of web development
• Experience with express servers and MongoDB, external integrations
• Experience in integrations to Sales Force and Microsoft
• Experience with Azure deployments and cloud architecture
• Bachelor or higher degree in computer science or equivalent is a must
• Fluent in written and spoken English is a must

Would be nice to have experience in:

• Nest.js
• Domain driven design
