Job Summary: HOLT CAT is looking for a High School Intern to work with our CAT Support team and will be under the direct guidance of an experienced Shop Service Supervisor to receive on-the-job training. The intern's primary purpose is to learn and develop an understanding of the overall CAT Support Service Department operation.

Essential Functions:

• Receive coaching, mentoring, and feedback from leadership
• Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
• Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
• Perform maintenance
• Help install, repair, and replace mechanical and electronic components
• Clean and/or lubricate machines
• Examine and test equipment, components, and parts to ensure the proper functioning
• Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools
• Adjust, maintain, and repair equipment and machine components
• Perform welding and other NDT tasks to ensure standards are met
• Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Basic computer skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Time management and organizational skills
• Basic math calculations and the ability to read, write, and understand work instructions

Education and Experience:

• Currently enrolled in a College or Technical School Welding program

Travel:

• No travel is expected for this position

Physical Requirements:

• This role frequently communicates with others, and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

Work Environment:

• Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
