Demonstrates the use of mechanical engineering principles through equipment design, calculations, and validation of drilling equipment and system components for offshore and onshore industry applications. Executes 3D/2D modeling and drawing preparation of drilling equipment—mainly pump packages, pump components, and pump layouts—and prepares bills of material (BOM) and project-related technical documentation under guidance. Contributes to safe, manufacturable, and reliable pump designs. Learns HMH design standards, processes, and product portfolio. Collaborates with global engineering teams on design execution.
Create 3D models and 2D drawings of equipment parts and subassemblies using Creo Parametric practices and company guidelines/procedures. Prepare manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and basic design documentation in accordance with company guidelines/procedures. Perform elementary engineering calculations (loads, fits, tolerances). Apply HMH and industry drafting/design standards. Support design changes based on manufacturing or test feedback. Participate in design reviews and document updates. Coordinate with manufacturing and supply chain teams. Maintain accurate records in Windchill systems. Follow HMH safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). 0–3 years of experience in mechanical design or rotating equipment. Working knowledge of CAD tools (Creo / AutoCAD). Understanding of basic mechanical design principles. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Motivated to ask questions and ability to build stable working relationships with internal teams.
Exposure to pumps, rotating equipment, or heavy industrial machinery. Understands general material types, coating types, manufacturing techniques, and NDE. Familiarity with GD&T and basic material selection. Familiarise preparing manufacturing‑ drawings for machined, cast, and fabricated parts. Internship or project experience in mining or process equipment. Willingness to learn global engineering standards (API, ASME, ISO). Strong communication and teamwork skills.
