Engineering Team Expansion Opportunity

Hitachi Energy v Brně is a place where technology and sustainability meet in practice. Since 2008, we have had our own engineering center here, which participates in the development of cutting-edge solutions for the transmission and distribution of electrical energy. We specialize in the design and production of gas insulated switchyards (GIS), which we supply to customers worldwide.

In connection with the construction of a new production hall, we are expanding our engineering team and are looking for an intern who would support the steel structures department. If you are passionate about technology, want to gain experience in an international environment, and work alongside experienced engineers, this opportunity is just for you.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support engineering in the design of steel structures for gas insulated switchyards in accordance with current standards and customer requirements, with an emphasis on quality and cost.
• Prepare production documentation and assist in solving technical problems within smaller or sub-projects.
• Collaborate on more complex projects – prepare 2D production documentation and support 3D design.
• Work under the guidance of an experienced engineer – an ideal opportunity to gain practical experience in steel structures and construction engineering.

Requirements:

• Study or completed education in the field of construction engineering, ideally with a focus on steel structures.
• Basic knowledge of technical drawings and construction standards.
• Ability to work in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Responsible approach to work, willingness to learn, and team collaboration.
• Knowledge of English at a level that allows reading technical documentation.
• Knowledge of 3D software (Tekla, Revit, etc.) and calculation software (SCIA, Ideastatica, etc.) is an advantage
