Sales & Development Underwriter (gn) - Commercial Lines

To strengthen our team at the Hamburg branch, we are looking for a Sales & Development Underwriter (gn) - Commercial Lines to join us immediately. As a salesperson with solid underwriting expertise in the commercial insurance sector, you will significantly contribute to the profitable growth of Hiscox as an insurer of the digital world. Between the Elbe, Alster and the digital world, you will ensure that Hiscox continues to grow profitably in the north and sets new standards.

Your tasks:

  • You will support your intermediary base in commercial insurance (property and liability, D&O, Cyber and Property) in a sales and professional manner.
  • You will independently carry out risk assessment, evaluation and documentation, as well as condition determination with your underwriting powers in the mentioned products.
  • You will support and advise independent intermediaries and monitor portfolio development and profitability in the commercial lines sector.
  • You will actively participate in product and tariff design as well as process optimizations and conduct product presentations to intermediaries, large customers and at events.
  • In collaboration with intermediaries, you will create creative and target group-specific insurance solutions on a project basis.

Your profile:

  • You are a Insurance Professional, have a business administration degree, ideally with a focus on insurance or have completed a training in the commercial liability insurance sector or Cyber.
  • You have several years of professional experience in the commercial liability insurance sector or Cyber as an Underwriter/Intermediary Advisor and/or in B2B sales and have an extensive network.
  • You have a high communication ability with internal and external partners (intermediaries, internal specialist departments, marketing, etc.) and think entrepreneurially.
  • You possess an outstanding negotiation skill, acquisition and sales strength.
  • A convincing appearance and good English skills complete your profile.
