Hiscox is expanding its use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform to enhance business agility and operational efficiency across its global units. This role sits within the Group Platform Engineering team and is pivotal in delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions using low/no-code approaches.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Delivery

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of solutions using Power Platform.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliverables.
  • Ensure alignment with design standards, reusable components, DevOps pipelines, and lifecycle management practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and Microsoft partners to ensure high-quality implementations.

Team Enablement

  • Foster a collaborative community of practice across business units.
  • Develop content for the community of practice including how-to guides, design standards, and training seminars.
  • Support training and certification initiatives to upskill team members and citizen developers.

Platform Management

  • Oversee licensing, capacity planning, and environment strategy for Power Platform and Dynamics 365.
  • Monitor platform usage and performance, ensuring optimal configuration and scalability.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain governance policies, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and access controls.
  • Conduct regular reviews with partners and internal teams to ensure compliance and security standards are met.
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement through knowledge sharing and mentoring.

Governance & Strategy

  • Assist the head of Platform Engineering in developing and enforcing governance models, standards, and policies.
  • Contribute to the strategic roadmap for Power Platform adoption and maturity across Hiscox.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience as a Senior Functional Specialist or Developer in defining, designing, developing, testing, and deploying D365 and Power Platform applications.
  • Extensive knowledge of Power Platform (including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and CoPilot Studio) and understanding of optimal use cases.
  • Commitment to professional development and supporting team skill enhancement.
  • Understanding of Azure cloud technology and security models.
  • Strong communication skills suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-motivation with evidence of staying informed about relevant technologies, trends, best practices, and security considerations.
  • Familiarity with both waterfall and agile project methodologies, and application lifecycle management.
  • Experience leading solution delivery in a complex, multi-unit organization.

Desirable Skills

  • Intermediate or Advanced Microsoft certifications in Power Platform or Dynamics (e.g., Power Platform Functional Specialist Associate, Power Platform App Maker Associate, Power Platform Solution Architect Expert).
  • Knowledge and experience in the insurance industry
  • Understanding of Azure cloud technology and security models.
