General Maintenance Engineer

The iconic Beverly Hilton is looking for a General Maintenance Engineer to join the Department Team! Since 1955, the hotel has hosted memorable moments etched in history from dazzling red-carpet events to celebrity galas and we want you to be a part of the team who combines the excitement and entertainment of Hollywood with the prestige of Beverly Hills. This Forbes 4-Star hotel has over 500 rooms, 60,000 square feet of banquet space, and 4 food and beverage outlets. This includes 2 restaurants, a lounge, and in-room dining.

Pay: $40.96 plus full-time benefits

Shift: mostly overnight – must have availability to work weekends, weekdays, and holidays.

Union Position: This position is part of the Local Union which requires complete open availability. We are not able to accommodate schedule restrictions and full-time hours are not guaranteed. Hours and schedule are based on seniority and business needs and may be minimal at times until seniority is established. You must be comfortable with a schedule and hours that may vary from week to week.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • 3-5 years' experience as a general maintenance engineer in a hotel environment/commercial building
  • Knowledge of all maintenance trades, including basic electrical (up to 208 volts), plumbing, & mechanical
  • Ability to communicate effectively, maximize resources, and adhere to strict health and safety regulations.
  • Flexible approach is imperative to the ever-changing demands of the department.
  • Ability to maintain excellent working relationships with your department and hotel colleagues.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Universal 608 refrigeration Certification
  • A Los Angeles CPO Certification
  • Welding experience

What will I be doing?

As a General Maintenance Engineer, you would be responsible for maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the facility in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Maintain the physical functionality and safety of the facility including, but not limited to, guest rooms, public space and heart-of-the-house areas
  • Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery and/or equipment
  • Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks including, but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, HVAC work and masonry
  • Conduct inspections for preventive maintenance needs
  • Record and report completed repairs and items that require further attention
