Event Services Manager

The Beach House Fort Lauderdale, A Hilton Resort is looking for a dynamic candidate for their next Event Services Manager.

An ideal setting for inspiring meetings and social events, the hotel offers 10,000 sq. ft. of indoor event space, including a main ballroom, ten breakout rooms, and an oceanfront outdoor venue.

This 25-story, all-suite hotel features 374 Oceanview suites with modern comforts. Perfectly positioned on Fort Lauderdale's exclusive North Beach—between Sunrise and Las Olas boulevards—it blends international sophistication with a relaxed tropical atmosphere, offering guests the best of coastal South Florida.

Our ideal candidate has experience in hotel catering or events and demonstrates a solid understanding of hotel event management processes. A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required. The candidate should be comfortable working with clients who have diverse communication styles and possess strong administrative and organizational skills. The ability to quickly learn event management software and an understanding of the full lifecycle of planning and executing events in a hotel environment are essential.

Pay Rate: This hourly role ranges from $26.44 to $28.85 per hour, depending on experience, and is eligible to participate in the Hilton Sales Incentive Plan.

Shift Pattern: Candidate must be able to have a fully flexible schedule to accommodate assigned group schedules to include early AM, late PM, weekends and holidays.

What will I be doing?

The Event Manager is responsible for the successful execution and servicing of all local catering events, primarily weddings and social functions such as birthdays, anniversaries, and engagement celebrations sold by the Assistant Director of Catering. This role also carries a defined catering sales responsibility, focused on selling and servicing all local catering events occurring within 30 days of arrival, regardless of event size.

Serving as the primary liaison between the client and the hotel, the Event Manager coordinates all internal departments to ensure seamless on-site execution and adherence to client expectations. By delivering exceptional service and attention to detail, the Event Manager plays a key role in enhancing the guest experience, driving client satisfaction, and encouraging repeat business for future dates.

The Event Manager is also responsible for maximizing revenue through strategic up-selling of hotel products and services. During on-property events, this individual acts as the client's main point of contact and is accountable for overseeing the overall event experience from setup through completion.

As Event Service Manager you will be responsible for event execution between the hotel and the customer during the meeting or event. Acts as liaison between the customer and the hotel by directing each department within the hotel as to their specific role in the on-site event. Successful achievement of this goal will ultimately result in a major contribution to the re-booking of the business for future dates. Maximizes revenues through effective up-selling of products and services. Serve as the event planner primary contact during event on property and is responsible for his/her experience.

Specifically, your essential functions will be to perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Provide direction and supervision to affected departments and team members during the execution of meeting and/or event.
  • Directly serve on site group and catering customers in a proactive manner.
  • To organize, plan and prioritize your duties by developing plans and goals.
  • Timely communication to internal and external clients via telephone, email, written documents or in person.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, booking systems, and processes.
  • Resolve conflicts and negotiate with others while handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts.
  • Selling and influencing both internal and external clients.
  • Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing and evaluating the issues and determine the best solution.
  • Ensure high quality service by communicating and assisting others to understand the guest needs, providing direction and guidance, feedback and individual coaching when needed.
  • Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary.
  • Other duties as necessary based on business needs
  • Regular attendance

What are we looking for?

• Minimum Years of Experience: one (1) year Hospitality related experience at manager level.

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions: • Knowledge of the hotel property management systems (Delphi.fdc) • Significant experience in revenue management or a similar analytical role • Relevant degree, in business development or other relevant business field, from an academic institution (CMP, CPCE)
