Welder

The Welder is responsible for welding of fabricated parts to print and specifications. Prepare steel, cast iron, aluminum and stainless-steel material and parts for weld.

Essential/Key Functions:

  • Prepare steel parts for arc, gas or mig welding. Weld materials of limited thickness where finished weld is not stressed.
  • Recommend improvements for area products and processes.
  • Report labor correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Practice good communication and interact professionally in the plant.
  • Produce quality work in the time frame that consistently meets or exceeds the expectation of Team Lead and Group Lead.
  • Adhere to the 5-S standards in the work area.
  • Communicate any discrepancies or errors on prints, materials list etc.
  • Interact with the teams on second and third shift to obtain positive results on productivity and quality.
  • Additional duties as specified by Assembly Lead. Produce and maintain consistent quality of work, dress, and grind parts after welding.
  • Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress, emergency situation, priority changes, or new assignments.
  • Work safely and in an environmentally responsible manner, practice good communications. Recommend improvements for area products and processes.

Minimum (Required) Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent technical school training.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • 3 plus years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age and/or enrolled in a bona fide technical program that qualifies for a work-based learning.
