Field Service Technician
As Field Service Technician for Shick Esteve - a Coperion brand, you will provide hands-on technical assistance, installation, startup, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, refurbishing, upgrades, and training at customer sites or remotely. Work You'll Do:
- Provide technical support for automated factory equipment, including troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Onsite: installation and start-up of new automated factory equipment. Maintain and fix issues with previously installed and used equipment. Train clients on routine maintenance and inspections to ensure efficient and safe operation.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues in automated systems and equipment. Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and maintenance activities. Prepare detailed Trip Reports on equipment performance and service history for clients and recommend spare parts for maintaining equipment.
- Provide onsite training and support for clients with the proper use and maintenance of automated equipment.
- Work closely with engineering and product development teams to provide feedback on equipment performance and suggest improvements. Collaborate with other technicians and support staff to ensure a timely and effective delivery of the services requested.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on equipment. Ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained in safe working conditions.
Team: You will be part of a dedicated Shick Esteve Field Services team focused on delivering high-quality technical support and service for automated factory equipment, collaborating with engineering, product development, and other support staff to enhance customer satisfaction.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in a related field preferred.
- A willingness and ability to travel extensively—often on short notice—and spend 1-3 weeks away from home supporting customer sites worldwide.
- Valid passport, driver's license, and a clean driving record, enabling seamless international and domestic travel.
- Proven experience as a field service technician or in a similar role, preferably in the kitchen equipment or automation industry.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including kitchens and manufacturing facilities.
- Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.
